Earline Adell Jennings, 94, Oblong, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL.
Earline was born in Oblong, IL on December 16, 1921, the daughter of Earl Smith and Elizabeth Ann “Anna” (Dennis) Smith. On September 13, 1942 she married Herbert F. Jennings and he preceded her in death on January 22, 1991.
Earline was previously employed at the Consolidated Telephone Company, Oblong, IL; Big John grocery store, working in the bakery department; and the IGA grocery store in Oblong, IL. Earline was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1939; the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Oblong, IL; the Oblong American Legion Auxiliary Post #219; Past Matron of the OES Mystic Star #548, Oblong, IL; volunteered at the Crawford County Nutrition Center; assisted with cooking the many legion banquets; enjoyed quilting, canning and reading. She was very family oriented and especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Earline is survived by her five sons and daughters-in-law: Herbert E. and Jan Jennings, Deland, FL; Larry and Jan Jennings, Owasso, OK; Ron and Dee Anna Jennings, John R. and Beth Jennings, Wayne and Joan Jennings, all of Oblong, IL; a daughter and son-in-law Rebecca “Becky” and Jay Haines, Oblong, IL; fourteen grandchildren: David and Stephanie Jennings, Kelly Jennings and Dawn Towle, Tom and Annette Jennings, Jim and Carrie Jennings, Robin and Russell Moneypenny, Libby Jennings, Kip and Katie Jennings, Shelli and Lisa Jennings, John and Rachel Jennings, Jody and Brooks Wilson, Stacey and Brian Mans, Celeste and Chris Jenkins, Nathan and Amie Haines, Keshia Haines and fiancé Justin Parkhurst; twenty-three great-grandchildren: A. J. Jennings, Caitie Jennings, Matthew Towle, Ehren Towle, Courtnie Jennings, Kyle Jennings, Mackenzie Jennings, Kasey Jennings, Kathryn Jennings, Zane Moneypenny, Riley Moneypenny, Zoe Jennings, Sophia Jennings, Kade Jennings, Kloee Jennings, Madilyn Jennings, Thomas Jennings, Noah Wilson, Rylan Wilson, Logan Wilson, Reese Johnson, Bryant Jenkins and Addison Jenkins; a brother and sister-in-law Larry and Lois Smith, Oblong, IL; a daughter-in-law Jan Jennings, Flora, IL; a brother-in-law Richard Lowe, St. Elmo, IL; along with several nieces and nephews.
Earline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Jerry Jennings; a grandson, Mike Jennings; and her sister Mary Lowe.
